Job Description

Our client, a well-respected law firm located in Downtown San Diego, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their tight-knit accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a small office environment and brings strong legal industry experience to the table. The role is ideally structured as temp-to-hire, but direct hire will be considered for the right candidate. Thi is working fully onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle full-cycle accounting functions with a focus on month-end close
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP
  • Monitor and review all records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions
  • Serve as the firm's primary liaison with external auditors for annual financial
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure accurate client billing and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with legal industry accounting standards and internal controls
  • Analyze financial data to support budgeting and strategic planning
  • Assist in audits and maintain accurate financial documentation

Requirements to Be Considered:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Must have a solid background in accounting, with 5+ years of experience overall
  • 3 years specifically in the legal industry
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and legal industry accounting practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software and legal billing platforms
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
